On June 9th, the entire RaisingNinjaBaby crew (A, NinjaBaby and Me) went on a Jersey Shore Pirate Adventure (JSPA) with the New Jersey Autism Warriors (NJAW).
Now first off a disclaimer. I don’t think I posted any pictures of faces of any Kids or Adults that were not part of the JSPA crew. If I did and you want it taken down, please send an email to [email protected] and I will remove the image right away. Also, if you sailed with us, I have a TON of other pictures, but I didn’t want to post pictures of other children and individuals on the blog without permission. I will be dropping those images in the NJAW Group shortly.
We had heard of the Jersey Shore Pirates in the past, and seen them sailing in the river, but never had a chance to make it to the previous NJAW/JSPA event, or on our own. We were more than ecstatic that this year we were gifted a set of tickets as part of an online raffle.
I would love to call out both Bubbles and Captain Crush. They were AWESOME. We had a great time. Both of them played their parts excellently, and had nothing but tender hands when dealing with all the children. I won’t bore you with a blow by blow of what happens, but it begins with looking for a map, finding a message in a bottle, attacking other pirates, finding the treasure, and then continuing back to port while still doing various elements so that the kids are engaged from start to finish and are never let down.
